Danny WelbeckManchester United striker Danny Welbeck has signed a new deal at the club until June 2013.

The Manchester-born 19-year-old has made seven appearances so far for United this season and has scored twice in the process.

The England Under 21 forward, who began his career at the club, partnered Michael Owen in the UEFA Champions League victory over Wolfsburg in midweek and he is delighted to have committed his future.

"I am really happy, there was never a doubt that this is where I want to be," he told the club's official website.

"I am enjoying every minute and learning so much from all the great players that are here.

"I would like to thank Sir Alex (Ferguson), the club and the fans for all their support."

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "We are delighted. We see Danny as one of the great young players who has emerged from the academy.

"He will have a terrific career and we are glad that he has placed his trust in us with his future."

Welbeck, who made his competitive debut for the club in September last year, is in the squad for Saturday's Premier League game against Aston Villa.
