Paul ScholesRyan GiggsSir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Manchester United are set to offer new contracts to Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

The veteran duo have become part of the furniture at Old Trafford over the years, having spent their entire careers to date with the Red Devils.

They are now set to be offered the opportunity to prolong their association with the club even further by penning fresh terms.

Giggs, the reigning PFA Player of the Year and latest member of the Premier League 100-goals club, will be rewarded for a number of performances which belie his years.

Danny WelbeckManchester United striker Danny Welbeck has signed a new deal at the club until June 2013.

The Manchester-born 19-year-old has made seven appearances so far for United this season and has scored twice in the process.

The England Under 21 forward, who began his career at the club, partnered Michael Owen in the UEFA Champions League victory over Wolfsburg in midweek and he is delighted to have committed his future.

"I am really happy, there was never a doubt that this is where I want to be," he told the club's official website.

Hargreaves boost for FergieSir Alex Ferguson is optimistic that Owen Hargreaves will be fit to return to action in four weeks.

The Manchester United midfielder has been plagued by a tendinitis problem for much of his career and has not played for over a year after undergoing operations on both knees.

He has done all his rehabilitation work in the United States so far under the guidance of renowned knee surgeon Dr Richard Steadman.

However, the England international returned to United's Carrington training complex earlier this week to take the next major step in his bid for recovery.

Owen Hargreaves Sir Alex Ferguson expects Owen Hargreaves to be back in action for Manchester United by early November.

The United boss has targeted a return for the influential midfielder in the UEFA Champions League game against CSKA Moscow on 3rd November.

The England midfielder has been plagued by a serious tendinitis problem in recent seasons and has had to undergo operations on both knees.

He has been rehabilitating in America over the summer but is expected back at United's Carrington training complex on 23rd September.

Michele FornasierFifa have confirmed they have been contacted by Fiorentina about Manchester United's signing of Michele Fornasier.

The Italian Under 16 skipper has agreed a move to Old Trafford and he played in their Milk Cup win in Northern Ireland in the summer.

With Italian clubs unable to offer professional terms until they are 18, Premier League clubs have been constant raiders on Italy.

Manchester United have been one of the most consistent plunderers of the Italian market, having previously bagged the likes of Giusseppe Rossi, Federico Macheda and Davide Petrucci.
